A Whimsical Dream

Ashlee and Beau Dees have got to be the cutest things this side of the Mason-Dixon. Waiting with her in our bridal suite moments before she walked down the aisle to her forever, she was so overcome with excitement. Seeing a bride just completely adore her groom is such a breath of fresh air these days! She just kept saying how excited she was just to see him standing at the other end of that aslie! They are the true definition of “till the cows come home”.

On Saturday, June 8th the two decided to spend the rest of their lives together! It was the sweetest day with the sweetest couple. Ashlee is a Wilmingtonian herself, while Beau is originally from Blenheim, SC. They met through the Wilmington Athletic Club and became the best of friends. After several years of being close friends, they finally started dating in 2016. They dated for 2 years until Beau asked Ashlee to be his wife in front of all their friends & family at Seawitch in Carolina Beach, the first place they went for dinner during the summer they met.

 

Ashlee and Beau fell in love with the barn for its unique features and whimsical style. And we sure did fall in love with them! They chose to have their ceremony under the Pavilion in front of the stone fireplace. One of our absolute favs!

This gave the ceremony the perfect combination of romance and elegance while still embracing the open airy feeling the property has to offer. Let’s be honest a covered outdoor ceremony site is slim pickins these days and Ashlee & Beau really wanted that woodsy feel while still keeping it classy and this was the perfect space for just that! For cocktail hour, we lined the side porch with cocktail tables layered with ivory linens and topped with a bud vase full of floral for guests to mingle. Sometimes simplicity is key, especially since the barn has it’s own unique charm! Needless to say, it was gorgeous and the perfect space for cocktail hour to enable guests to have a cold one and grad some yummy appetizers! Dinner, toasts and cake cutting resided inside the Barn. They chose to have their sweetheart table directly in front of the barn doors with sheer draperies. This made for the perfect spot for the two of them to fully take in their day and really appreciate everyone’s presence. The night ended where the wedding began, under the Pavilion. Ashlee and Beau danced the night away with all their friends and family!

We can not rave enough about how easy Ashlee and Beau were to work with! We were a little skeptical about the weather and if it was going to rain or not but that did not worry them one bit. They were just so excited to be here and to get MARRIED!! When the night was over Ashlee just kept saying that the day was a whimsical dream, and everything she could have imagined!

The day could not have gone any smoother and relaxed, which is what we like to call a perfect wedding day!
